Work Hard, Have Fun, No Drama...
After the past few years and especially this year, I have learned a lot about growing. When you get older, you realize that you need to work hard to get somewhere and this may take some time. You realize you need to take life a little less seriously in order to laugh and enjoy the moment. We only get one single life and we need to treasure every moment we get. Most of all, you realize you don't need those that bring drama to your life. Your life can be exciting, fun and memorable without it. Just like the above quote, it is important to keep a positive outlook. Life becomes a lot easier and more enjoyable when you just live for the moment and don't let drama bring you down.

Looking Ahead...
I think this quote in particular is one to live by.
In life, we all have various relationships and sometimes we get people who treat us well and ones that don't. The thing to remember is that life is too short to knock your head against the wall trying to save the relationships where you are not treated right. Sometimes it is difficult to just forget about the one's who don't but it is more worthwhile to invest your energy in those relationships that do treat you well and acknowledge you, your strengths, weaknesses and that support you.
How often do we hear people say "everything happens for a reason". Sometimes it is really difficult to understand what that reason is. The thing is that it helps you to see your situation from a more holistic perspective as if there is a destiny for you and ultimately it will be the right thing for you at the right time.
What I have learned this year is that you don't always get what you want but perhaps there is something better for you. Maybe better relationships, better opportunities, better experiences. And sometimes, we have to be open to destiny taking us on a journey and learning on the way. Sometimes losing people might mean you need to learn forgiveness or loss. Sometimes gaining relationships mean you have something to learn from these people and they have something to add to your life. And sometimes, you don't get what you want because life is not easy. Life is hard work and sometimes you have to work harder than others but with the help of faith, you will realize why this is so in due time. In essence, you need to be patient and reflect on the 'no's' you might receive as they will break you down to build you up to be a better and more prepared individual that will eventually yield a yes.
Remember your worth and never let go. Life is too short for regret so why bother with things that make you unhappy. Follow your passions and your passions will follow you. Always remember to grow and learn from every situation and that whatever roadblocks or opportunities that come your way are there for a reason, and it is up to you to piece the bigger picture together.
I hope that this quote rings true for you as it does for me. Good luck in your journey and remember it will be worth it if you believe it to be.

It's the NEW year, is it a new YOU?!
We always make new years resolutions, trying to be better people. The new year almost symbolizes a new clean slate where we can begin again but as brand new people.
What are you going to change about yourself? How are you going to grow?
I challenge you to do one thing every day that scares you. Why?
It is because when we are scared and conquer our fears that we find ourselves and grow. We find out how far we can push ourselves and its quite exciting breaking through a fear. It prepares us as we enter each day fearless.
I recently conquered a fear of mine which is of heights. I immediately wanted to so "No, no way I'm climbing a 30 feet high tree to jump off it!". But I thought to myself "I'll regret it if I don't do it" and so as hard as each step was up that tree, no words could describe the sense of accomplishment when I jumped off. I felt fearless and ready to do anything just from that. Just imagine the possibilities we could have by conquering one fear day by day. They say after all, being in an uncomfortable place is good because it forces you to grow.
There is a great quote from 'We Bought a Zoo' which can help you overcome your fears...
Literally, it takes 20 seconds to pluck up the courage to do something and by just gathering that courage and going through with something is enough just to be proud of. So I dare you try this today!
I further challenge you to go on new adventures constantly. Say yes to things you wouldn't usually do because by doing things you've never done, you may get what you've never gotten. Be open and I promise you, you will grow.
So I leave you with this amazing quote:
Good luck on conquering your fears and embracing new adventures!
Here's to a a year of growth, happiness, love and FUN!
