How to Win...

"The world aint all sunshine and rainbows.
It is a very mean and nasty place.
It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life.
BUT,
It aint about how hard you hit.
It is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward,
how much you can take and keep moving forward.
That is how WINNING is done."

 When I came across this quote, I was really inspired. It happens more often than not that life kicks us and beats us to the point where we are unable to get up. At some point in everyone's life, they will feel what it is like to hit rock bottom. It is a dark scary place that seems as if there is no ladder to get out. Life is cruel and tends to serve the notion "every man for himself" and sometimes, you may be nice to people but get run over in doing so. Sometimes, you may take a risk and have to suffer its consequences rather than its rewards. Sometimes, you lose friendships or relationships that were your crutches in coping with life.
Whatever the case, it happens.

But, the truth of it, is that only remarkable stories exist from people who rose from those dark places.
"Rock bottom and rebuilding your life"
People who were able to climb out of their hole and try again are the most successful. Not only are they the most successful but they know the meaning of success and failure making them grateful for where they are.
They say that being grateful for something is the most powerful energy you can send out to the universe.
The strength it takes to pick yourself up when the world shows you its cruelty is what winning is all about.

So if you are currently going through this, know that it does not last forever and that if you just keep moving forward then you are a winner. By just having the strength and courage to TRY again is what makes people great.

"Keep moving forward"
"It's only after you have lost everything that you
are FREE to do anything"

What is Success?

"What is success?
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of
false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden
patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
People often associate success with money and making it in one's career however real success has many more factors.
It is not about money at the end of the day but rather the fact that you are happy. It requires one too to be tolerable of those
that may be smarter and rather admire them instead of being jealous. It is about being able to be criticized and taking it as a
way to grow yourself in order to reach your full potential. Friends often betray us because it is often those closest to us that
leave us, hurt us or use us but by enduring such circumstances will enhance growth to reach maximum potential.
Finding the best in others is like finding positivity and this ability is so important to acquire because
once one is able to perceive positivity in every aspect of life, positivity will naturally flood one's life with good things.
It is about changing one's way of thinking and focusing on the good rather than the bad.
Trying to leave this world in a better place will only catalyze others to do so too.
The most touching part of this quote is knowing that you have made one person's life easier is the sole reason to success.

Belittling someone to the point where they don't want to exist is not success.
Ignoring someone who needs your help because it is inconvenient for you is not success.
Holding back because you are too afraid to help someone is not success.
Saying hurtful words to someone just because you hurt too is not success.

I hope that reading this will give you a different perspective of what success may mean.
May this post encourage you to be a nicer person, to look at the world more positively and not be afraid to
help people because one small act could possibly mean the world to that person.
This of course is not an easy process and may take time to grow but once you start, you will see the world
will give back to you.

Much Love xoxo

That Point In Life...

Ever felt that you get to a point in life where you are no where close to what you expected, dreamed of or planned? I feel sometimes we make plans and expect ourselves to have done certain things at a certain age and then by the time we get to that age, we are not even close to where we wanted to be.
For example, some people talk about that they want to be married at a certain age, and then when that birthday passes and they are not married, then they feel like a failure. Some people hope for more close friends but life hands them none. It becomes hard to feel happy for others because they are exactly where you thought you would be.

The point of this post is not to depress you in anyway. It is too show you that if you feel that you have not reached a certain idea in your head, you are not alone. The thing to remember is that life is still moving and there are still opportunities to try and get to that place where you want to be. For some people, it takes longer to get there. Some people need to work harder because they have more life lessons to learn. It is just the way life is. We need to stop thinking that we didn't succeed but how FAR we have come. Truth is, we can all agree that nothing ever goes according to plan. Life is unpredictable. Life is spontaneous. Things just happen that we never expected would occur and this ultimately affects our original plan.

Personally, setting these ideas in your head only leads to disappointment. Rather have a very rough goal that has no exact dates or what not so that you have something to work towards. Accept life and that things just happen because that's the way it works. Once you accept this, life will become a more pleasant ride where you appreciate what you have rather than what you don't. You appreciate how far you have come rather than sulking about close you were to reaching this idea. You got to keep in mind, that it is the ride of life and the lessons we learn than are more important than anything else
